Lot of 14 mounted albumen photographs, including 12 featuring mining scenes in Santo Domingo, Mexico. Each of the twelve inscribed "'Our Mining Camp' / Santa [sic] Domingo / Mexico" with an additional inscription describing the subject on verso. Highlights include an image of three Mexican miners with verso inscribed, "No. 1. Secretary of Mining deputation / No. 2 Custom House officer. / No. 3. Burro driver;" an image of two miners flanking a line of burros with verso inscribed, "Burro train and drivers / ready to start for the mine / to load with ore;" and an image of a man riding a burro down the side of a mountain with verso inscribed, "Taking an invalid down / the trail to the lower / Camp." Additional photographs include one indoor view of a church in Juarez, Mexico, dated January 4, 1892, and one mining scene with no inscription. Condition: Photographs with some toning, surface soil, and wear to mount edges (some of which are flaking).
