Groupe en porcelaine représentant une femme et un jeune Maure, Meissen, circa 1920-1923 A Meissen group of a lady and boy (Dame mit Mohrenknabe), circa 1920-1923Modelled by Paul Scheurich on a hexagonal base, the seated lady wearing a dress edged in shades of iron-red, her hat with a gilt ribbon with tassels, holding a golden fruit in her right hand, the boy wearing a turban and similarly coloured costume with flower sprigs, a similarly decorated cushion at the rear, incised 'Scheurich/ 19' to rear edge of base, 27.9cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue, incised mode number F.274, impressed Former's number 50, painter's numeral 74 in black (tip of her right shoe restored)FootnotesProvenance: Michael and Margot Newman, London Exhibited: Meissen, Museum der Meissen Porzellan-Stiftung, Paul Scheurich Porzellangestalter Zeichner Grafiker, 6 March 2020-21 February 2021 See footnote to preceding lot.
