(55.2 x 34.9 cm), framed. Condition: Taped to window mat, minor toning. Provenance: Nachlass Bestätigung Hermine Klimt; private Midwest collection; by family descent to the present owners. N.B. The present work is one of a series of Schreitenden [walking women] drawn by Klimt in preparation for the Stoclet Palace frieze, which is comprised of different models. This particular long-haired model closely relates to one documented in Alice Strobl's catalogue raisonne as no. 1540. We wish to thank Dr. Marian Bisanz-Prakken of the Albertina Museum for her assistance cataloguing the lot; the work will be included in her forthcoming supplement volume to Strobl's catalogue raisonné of Klimt's drawings.
