Pagani, Jr., purchased May 5, 1989 from the above This work is a study for the figure of Justice in Klimt's oil painting Jurisprudence (Novotny-Dobai, no. 128), one of a series of three large-scale paintings created for the Great Hall of the University of Vienna from 1904 through 1907. The paintings were destroyed by the S.S. during World War II. C Estate of Francis L. Pagani, Jr.
Tipped to mat from top verso edge. Handling creases. Some surface dirt. May be a few spots of foxing. Few tiny pinholes at edges.
