Brass parts marked with "H" and "M" sub-inspector markings. Barrel marked with three line "US/WN/P" proofs. Counterpane shows remnants of cartouches. Lockplate marked forward of hammer "US/H. ASTON & CO", and rear of hammer "MIDDTN/CONN/1851". Breech tang marked with remnants of "1850" date. Condition: Good to very good. Barrel has been cleaned, some markings weakened as a result. Some scattered oxidation and rust frosting on barrel with lockplate showing some scattered oxidation. Brass parts have a dull luster. Stock is in fair condition with some evidence of sanding along with a stable 2" crack rear of lockplate. Action fine with bore showing some scattered rust and minor pitting.
