FIRST EDITION of the eye-witness narrative of James Hackett who served as a Lieutenant in the Venezuela Artillery Brigade, under the command of Colonel Gilmore, fighting as part of Simon Bolivar's forces. Sabin 29476. C. BROWN. Narrative of the Expedition to South America, which sailed from England at at the close of 1817, for the service of the Spanish patriots. London: E. Howlett for John Booth, 1819. 8° (226 x 140mm). Half-title. (Some light marginal soiling, occasional small tears not affecting the text.) Original boards, uncut (neatly rebacked to style, majority of original letterpress title label laid down, inner hinges repaired). FIRST EDITION. This work continues the story of the British forces fighting for Bolivar from where the previous narrative finished.
