Both flown on Apollo 13, a USAF Aerospace Research Pilot School cloth emblem, 5 inches tall, displayed with a 4 inch diameter Apollo 13 cloth crew emblem. A 4 inch square color photograph of the Apollo 13 Command Module descending on parachutes prior to splashdown has been placed between the emblems. All are mounted onto a 14 x 9 inch mat board which reads: "These patches were flown to the Moon on Apollo 13 Spacecraft by a former student. April 11-17 ,1970." Signed by FRED W. HAISE. Before his selection as a NASA astronaut in 1966, Fred Haise performed post-graduate work at the United States Air Force Research Pilot School in 1964. He was the outstanding graduate of the school's class 64A held at the Edwards Air Force Base in California. He has logged over 9,000 hours of aircraft flight time, 6,000 of those being in jets.
