(Lacks ?6 preliminary and ?3 other unnumbered pages, title trimmed with partial loss of imprint, browning to text and woodcut plates, frequent tears and sometimes crude repairs to text resulting in occasional loss, many plates severely torn and roughly repaired on verso.) The last part is a translation of the Koran into German, edited by Johan Lange. The greater part of the work comprises a history of the wars between Turkey and Hungary and the recent Venetian-Turkish campaigns in southern Greece from 1684 to 1688, but it also contains 'curious representations of the aborigines of America, all with detailed descriptions of their manners, customs, religion'. An imperfect copy sold not subject to return. Atabey 563 (refers to this second copy); Sabin 30279; not in Blackmer.
