Woodward [and others), 1744-48. 2 volumes (412 x 254 mm). 57 engraved plates (including 15 folding maps, 9 maps, 31 plates and 2 portraits). Contemporary calf (worn). Second revised edition, edited by John Campbell. First published in 1705, the second edition contains many more plates and maps than the first. The work also includes probably the first account of Bering's second expedition and contains THE FIRST ENGLISH MAP OF NEW HOLLAND, plus maps of Australia, the Americas and 2 world maps.
