ONLY EDITION OF THIS EARLY ROGUE BIOGRAPHY, published anonymously, the postscript assuring the reader that it was Jackson's own autobiography, written in Newgate while he awaited execution. Head, a one time bookseller well-acquainted with low life, is best known as the author of The English Rogue . Wing H-1256; together with: The Tryal and Conviction of Mary Butler, alias Strickland ... on the 12th day of October, 1699.
