Kneeland for Joseph Edwards Date: 1770 Description: 31 pp. (8vo) 20x15.5 cm (8x6") original self-wrappers. First Edition. Whitefield was one of the leading voices of The Great Awakening in 18th century England and America. He was a Harvard graduate, one of the founders of Princeton and minister of the Presbyterian Church in New York from 1727 to 1753. Within the sermon Pemberton has written "Posterity will view Mr. Whitefield, in many respects, as one of the most extraordinary Characters of the present Age. His Zealous, Incessant and Successful Labors -- in Europe and America are without parallel." Evans 11799. Lot Amendments Condition: Minor worming at lower two inches of first four leaves, a few letters affected; upper corner of one leaf lacking with loss of page numbers and a few letters; good.
