Lot of 14 photographs on green boudoir card mounts with the backmark of photographers Henry & Norman of Port Arthur, Ontario. Many with printed captions in the negatives identifying the location of the construction and the contractor, including R.G. Reid & Co.'s contracts, Jackfish and Little Pic contracts, and Ogilvie's Jackfish contract. Specific projects include the Little Pic Bridge, Judge's Cut, Sprague's Cut, and construction along Jackfish Bay and across Blackbird Creek. All but 2 of the photographs feature the teams of workmen, often posing for the camera. These sections of the Canadian Pacific Railway were built in the early 1880s along the northern shore of Lake Superior in what is now the Thunder Bay District of Northern Ontario. Condition: Most prints evenly toned, some with fading obscuring the captions. Light-to-moderate soiling to prints and mounts. A few with scattered brown stains.
