HITLER, ADOLF SP A head and shoulder black and white photograph of Adolf Hitler, inscribed and signed by Hitler in 1934. Signed across the lower portion of the image in black ink: "Herrn Pietro Solari freundlichst [in friendship] Adolf Hitler, Berlin 11 July 1934". Image size approx. 215 x 165mm, and annotated in pencil below the image "Aufn. [picture by] Wieland Wagner, Bayreuth 1933". Wieland, the grandson of Richard Wagner certainly met Hitler and joined the Nazi Party allegedly at "Uncle Wolf"'s insistence. Some minor silvering to image but overall a very impressive signed portrait. Copyright stamp on rear by Verlag Pieperhoff. Overall size approx 295 x 220mm. Provenance: From the family of prominent Italian journalist Pietro Solari who published the first Italian newspaper interview with Hitler and author of "Hitler e il Terzo Reich" (1932).
