Type: 93B. 17 large metalcuts, 30 small portrait metalcuts, and large anatomical man, ILLUMINATED IN GOLD AND COLOURS BY A CONTEMPORARY HAND, painted architectural frame added to pages with large cuts, all other leaves with painted floral and foliate outer border, liquid-gold initials, paragraph marks and line-filler on alternating red or blue ground. (Stain at upper corner, painted borders trimmed.) 18th-century French red goatskin elaborately tooled in gilt, flat spine gilt in compartments, lettered in one, top and bottom edges gilt (lightly darkened on sides, head of spine repaired). Provenance : Camila, Italian nun at the abbey of the Holy Spirit and St. Anne at ?'Pholiolla' (inscription in Italian at end); ?Anne of Austria, gift to Duchesse de Nemours (inscription dated 1665 at end). With the complete set of the Hardouin's 8°-size Horae illustrations, with the exception (owing to the absence of fo. C7) of the Crucifixion.
