Horatio, Viscount Nelson Autograph letter signed, to [Francis James] Jackson, "His Majestys [sic] Minister at Paris" letter of introduction for his brother-in-law George Matcham, who is touring France ("...any attentions your Excellency is pleased to shew him will very much oblige your most obedient servant...", 1 page, 4to, integral blank, Merton, 5 June 1802, with autograph wrapper retaining trace of seal George Matcham, who had travelled extensively in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East in his youth, was quick to take advantage of the Peace of Amiens and embark on a Continental tour. Nelson wrote this letter to Francis James Jackson (1770-1814), the interim British minister plenipotentiary at Paris.
