HUISH, Robert (1777-1850). The Public and Private Life of ... George the Third, London: Thomas Kelly 1821. 4° (262 x 205mm). Engraved portrait frontispiece, additional engraved title, 13 engraved plates, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED WITH 22 ENGRAVED PORTRAITS AND VIEWS, one folding, one hand-coloured, and a commission SIGNED BY GEORGE III, dated 20th July 1809, on vellum, appointing William Irwin to rank of Lieutenant in the South Gloucestershire Regiment of Foot. (One text leaf torn with loss, some staining and spotting, title creased and repaired.) Finely-bound in 19th-century scarlet morocco gilt, spine gilt in compartments, gilt edges. With 6 other books of related interest including William Gibb's The Royal House of Stuart illustrated by a Series of Forty Plates in Colours (London, 1890), Richard R. Holmes's Queen Victoria (London, 1897, one of 350 copies on Japanese paper with an extra suite of plates), Andrew Lang's Prince Charles Edward (London, 1900, one of 350 copies) and Osmund Airy's Charles II (London, 1901, one of 1,250 copies).
