Iceland and the Faroe Islands Sir George Steuart MACKENZIE (1780-1848). Travels in the island of Iceland during the summer of the year MDCCCX. Edinburgh: Archibald Constable & co. and others in London, 1811. 4° (273 x 214mm). 14 engraved plates (1 folding, 8 mounted hand-coloured aquatints), 3 engraved maps, 1 hand-coloured and folding, engraved illustrations. (Lacks half-title, slight surface damage to dedication leaf with resultant loss of one character, folding map torn and repaired, some spotting and browning to mounts of plates, unmounted plates also browned and spotted.) Contemporary calf (rebacked. old spine laid down). Provenance : George Phillips Parker (armorial bookplate); W.Creighton Lee (inscription, dated March 1859). Abbey Travel I, 160; Tooley 313.
