Pryanis (in Cyrillic). Oil on canvas. 45×37 cm. Provenance: Emil Arfelt (1880–1939), Danish state-authorized public accountant in Aalborg and owner of Jysk Revisionsinstitut (Jutland Accountant Institute). Emil Arfelt was part of the higher bourgeoisie in Aalborg of that time and very interested in art. He was a member of the board of the Aalborg Art Association and Aalborg Art Museum, lecturer on art, co-organizer of art exhibitions and an art patron. Many artists and art collectors came to his home, and he acquired numerous works from various persons to build his own private art collection, including this present painting. Thence by descent to his grandson with residence in Denmark, until today.
