Including a carnelian example with a nymph slumbering beneath the boughs of a tree, an erote sitting on her lap holding a star aloft, a kantharos beside the tree, 19mm. a chip along the bottom edge; another carnelian example with four racing biga’s, with central obelisk, 15mm.; an agate example with a male figure wearing a cap, holding a spear and shield, an ear of barley behind, the hilt of a dagger emerging from behind, leaning down towards a diminutive creature, 15mm.; a green agate with a female scantily attired and holding a balance, 18mm.; a carnelian intaglio with a finely draped winged Annona, a rudder at her feet, 16mm. and twelve other examples variously inscribed with figures, some of deities, 9mm. minimum, 15mm. maximum and a fragment of a gilt inlaid amethyst intaglio with part of the stag remaining, a star in the field, circa 1st-4th Centuries A.D.
