Publisher: GPO Date: 1913 Description: 95pp + eight plates of half-tone views of irrigated agricultural lands + nine large folding color maps, photo-lithographed by Britton & Rey (San Francisco). Rebound in wrappers, with original front wrapper mounted on cover; new end-papers. Seminal report by one of the foremost experts on the subject - Adams was the US Dept. of Agriculture’s Irrigation Manager in California - and one of the most important cartographic studies of the state. Outstanding, detailed maps - state-wide and regional- that show not only the use of irrigation but also the location of all agricultural lands at the time, before the expansion of highways and communities. Also included: William Hammond Hall’s Irrigation Development (1886); Report on Salt Water Barrier, two volumes (Sacramento, 1929); Report on Iron Canyon Project (1914); Economies of Scale of Farming in the /Southern San Joaquin Valley (1946) + nine other volumes.
