In Letters to a Lady, 1st edition, for J. Dodsley, 1780, half-title, 2 sepia aquatint plates, engraved plan ('Yambo' i.e. Yanbu, modern-day Saudi Arabia), 3 engraved folding maps, toning, a few marks, folding map facing p. 68 extensively repaired verso, contemporary half calf, red morocco label, 4to (25.7 x 19.3 cm) (Qty: 1) Provenance: 'Blathwayt' (contemporary ownership inscription, front free endpaper); Library of Colin and Joan Deacon. Atabey 609; Blackmer 865 (second edition; one plate only); Cox I p. 232; Macro 1293 (second edition); not in Abbey. 'This work is chiefly valuable for the information which his personal adventures necessarily give of the manners, etc., of the Arabians' (Cox).
