Glue relined. Frame rubbing, with corresponding restoration around the edges, especially along the upper margin. Considerable restoration on the face. Shadows on the sitter's white shirt have been reinforced. Long area of surface grime, approximately 1 1/2 x 19 inches, descending vertically from the upper margin to the sitter's left shoulder (to viewer's as right). Scattered restoration on the clothing and in the background.
