Type: 1:99G. 6-line illuminated historiated initial of a saint opening text, foliate border extending to top and bottom margins, 3- to 6-line initials and paragraph marks alternating in red and blue, yellow capital strokes, ms. guide-letters and quiring occasionally visible. (Corner of one leaf torn with a little loss.) Contemporary Cologne blind-tooled calf over thick wooden boards, sides panelled with central diapered compartment, tooled with flower-head and fleur-de-lis (rubbed, rebacked, small sections of leather replaced, front hinge cracking). Provenance : Tournai, Jacobus [-] and Arnoldus de Porulus (contemporary inscription preserved on front pastedown) -- Daniel Canon Rock (bookplate). C 6540; BMC I, 247 (IB. 4104); Bod-Inc.
