Mill") to Miss Nicholson, [London] 8 June 1868, 2 pages, 12mo, address portion of envelope tipped to integral blank leaf, remnants of mounting : "I have the pleasure of inclosing the papers of the National Society for Women's Suffrage...[the secretary of the Society -- Mill gives her address] will supply you with all the information which I am happy to hear you desire with reference to the suffrage"--RUSKIN, JOHN. Autograph letter signed to "Dear Sir," London, 14 December n.y., 2 pages, 18mo : "...it is with difficulty I write to you this letter, the second I have written this morning, & the only bit of manuscript I have ventured upon, except that one, during the whole week. I was taken ill on Sunday night, & am now getting well. I am advanced with the Conductor [i.e., Hunt's contribution to this periodical]...I dare not promise it before Wednesday next...It is not the worst Magazine time, but if it cannot be made to suit your own arrangements, pray do without me ..."--HALLAM, HENRY (1777-1859, historian).
