Provenance: Purchased by the current owner from the Brust family, owners of the Peterson family home in Elgin, Illinois. The papers were discovered in the attic of the house by the Brusts. The house, which had been struck by lightning and sat unoccupied for about ten years, was purchased by the Brusts from the Peterson/Beck family, c. 1960.
