Each painted with a design denoting a Japanese Army Regiment incorporating an arrangement of helmets, flowers and national flags. A few cups very lightly rubbed, 3 of the cups in their original cardboard boxes. A fine selection of military sake cups, given by family members and friends to soldiers who had been discharged or retired from military service, as a memento. The regimental cups in this collection include the Medical Corps, 28th Infantry Regiment, and the 2nd Infantry Regiment, amongst many others. They were often sold in the smart department stores of major cities.
