Lot of 10 Jerome Biederman original illustrations of early automobiles in goache, including: 1907 Welch, 14.25 x 11 in. (sight) and 24 x 20 in. with mat. 1915 Pierce Arrow, 14.25 x 11 in. (sight) and 24 x 20 in. with mat. Inscribed "Illustration No. 13" on verso. 1913 American, 14.25 x 11 in. (sight) and 24 x 20 in. with mat. 1909 Thomas L6-40, 14.25 x 11 in. (sight) and 24 x 20 in. with mat. 1909 Peerless 7-Passenger Touring, 14.75 x 11 in. (sight) and 23 x 20 in. with mat. 1907 White Touring, 14 x 10 in. (sight) and 23 x 20 in. with mat. 1919 Pierce-Arrow Short-Coupe Touring, 14.75 x 10 in. (sight) and 23 x 20 in. with mat. 1928 Renault Cabriolet, 13.75 x 9 in. (sight) and 24 x 20 in. with mat. 1908 Stearns, 14.25 x 11 in. (sight) and 23.75 x 20 in. with mat. Inscribed "Illustration No. 11" on verso. 1932 Auburn Boattail Speedster, 14.5 x 10 in. (sight) and 22.75 x 20 in. with mat. "My final year in high school, I convinced myself that, above all else, I wanted to become an artist,” wrote Jerome Biederman in the November-December 1970 issue of Horseless Carriage Gazette. Biederman built a prolific career as a pioneering artist of inventions in transportation that moved on land, air, and sea. His paintings were prominently featured in McCleery-Cumming Corporation calendars, Playboy magazine, Automobile Quarterly, and Horseless Carriage Gazette for over thirty years. Condition: 1908 Stearns piece completely detached from mat.
