Lot of 3 original gouache watercolors of trains and locomotives by illustration artist Jerome Biederman. All original illustrations are on illustration board and signed by the artist. Includes: 1880-1910 Chemical and Hose Wagon, manufactured by American LaFrance, 12 3/4 x 8 1/2 in. (sight) and 22 1/2 and 19 1/2 in., with mat. 1899 Nesselsdorfer, 15 x 10 1/2 in. (sight) and 23 and 20 in., with mat Early 1900s Steamer, manufactured by Amoskeag, 13 x 8 1/2 in. (sight) and 22 1/2 x 19 1/2 in., with mat. "My final year in high school, I convinced myself that, above all else, I wanted to become an artist,” wrote Jerome Biederman in the November-December 1970 issue of Horseless Carriage Gazette. Biederman built a prolific career as a pioneering artist of inventions in transportation that moved on land, air, and sea. His paintings were prominently featured in McCleery-Cumming Corporation calendars, Playboy magazine, Automobile Quarterly, and Horseless Carriage Gazette for over thirty years.
