Property from the William Louis-Dreyfus Foundation and Family CollectionsJOSEF ALBERS1888 - 1976SOFT EDGE - HARD EDGE (DANILOWITZ 165) The complete portfolio, comprising ten screenprints in colors, 1965, each signed in pencil, dated, individually titled and numbered 11/50 (total edition includes 250 unsigned impressions), on Rives BFK wove paper, printed by Sirocco Screenprints, published by Ives-Sillman, Inc., New Haven, framed (10 prints)images: 279 by 279 mm 30 by 30 insheets approx.: 430 by 427 mm 16⅞ by 16¾ inCondition ReportThe prints are in good condition apart from faint, slightly uneven discoloration in the margins and some minor scuffs in the image. Versos slightly toned, with remnants from prior hinges at corners, some with associated adhesive-stain and minor spots of skinning. (Some with a few specks of discoloration on the verso and an occasional fox mark.) (Danilowitz calls for sheet dimensions of 432 by 432 mm.)
