Oil on canvas, 33 1/4 x 29 1/4 in. (84.3 x 74.3 cm), framed. Condition: Small area of retouch to u.r. quadrant with corresponding patch reinforcement to the reverse, craquelure, mild surface grime. N.B. The sitter, Robert Archey Woods, an American social worker and author, helped found the South End House in Boston in 1891 and served as its head until his death in 1925.
