The first leaf is the section title for "The second part of the Bible..." listing the 13 books contained within, and with a half-page woodcut showing scenes of battle and martyrdom. Early ink ownership signature of John Misselbrooke of Penton on the section title. Produced under the authority of the established Church of England in 1568, the Bishops' translation was substantially revised in 1572, and this revised edition was the base text for the Authorized King James Version of 1611.
