KEATS, John (1795-1821). The Poems of John Keats . Edited by E. de Sélincourt. London: Methuen and Co., 1905. 8° (211 x 142mm). Half-title, title in red and black. Photogravure portrait frontispiece. Cosway-style binding in later dark blue morocco gilt by Bayntun (Riviere), upper cover with inset original oval portrait miniature of Keats after Joseph Severn the miniature surrounded with gilt-tooled decoration of stylised violets, the leaves tooled onto green morocco onlays, the flower-heads and buds onto violet or red morocco onlays, the lower cover with similar gilt decoration with onlays, the spine in six compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second, the others with repeat overall decoration employing the same coloured onlays and motifs as the covers, gilt turn-ins, watered-silk endleaves.
