Green morocco by Riviere, the covers with a central medallion in gilt, spine simply gilt in six compartments, all edges gilt. 6 1/4 x 3 3/4 inches (15.5 x 9.5 cm); [vi], 199, [1] pp. An elegantly bound and fresh copy, very occasional faint pencil underlining in text, lacking the half-title but otherwise complete with the fly-titles and publisher's advertisement. The advertisement notes that the cool reception given the poet's Endymion "discouraged the author from proceeding"). This was Keats' second and final collection of poems, published before his untimely death in Rome the following year. It contains many of his greatest odes (To a Nightingale, On Melancholy, On a Grecian Urn, To Psyche etc., as well as the magnificent but incomplete Hyperion.
