Sullivan, 2 pp, 8vo, n.p., n.d., to Mr. Alexander, regarding the publication of one of Helen’s articles, leaves creased and lightly thumbed, 1 inch tear to upper margin of p 1. Keller writes this letter just a month after the death of the woman who taught her sign-language, tutored her through Radcliffe, and was a companion for 49 years. In part: “it is winter in my life since the guardian angel of fifty years no longer walks by my side on earth. Yet I thank God for the wondrous gift He has withdrawn a little while, and for the difficulties to be overcome that shall be my tribute to Anne Sullivan Macy.”
