KENNEDY, JACQUELINE as FIRST LADY Autograph letter signed to Oleg Cassini Washington: 25 January 1962 (date from postmark). Two page autograph letter in blue ink signed "Jackie", written on the recto and verso of one sheet of "The White House/Washington" stationery, accompanied by the original mailing envelope. 8 x 5 inches. Rust stain from paper clip to upper margin and envelope, small loss to paper at upper left margin likely where removed from pad, usual folds . In this letter, the First Lady prepares for her official visit to India writing "It turns out India is so hot one has to change clothes about 3 times a day ... " and requests washable dresses from his new collection. The second page of the letter regards "a lovely idea for an evening dress sometime - You must see Les Derniere Annees a Marienbad - All Chanel-ish chiffons - I saw a picture of Bardot in one - in Match or Elle - in black but mine could be red" and provides a small drawing wearing the dress of her design.
