Late 18th to mid 19th century Four oban bijinga prints: one by Utamaro depicting Tsuruya Onoe, Naraya Idahachi and the Mistress of the Tea House from the series Chiwa kagami tsuki no murakami (Models of Love-talk: Clouds Form over the Moon), published by Yamaguchiya Chusuke, signed Utamaro hitsu; the second attributed to Utamaro II, depicting a courtesan relaxing in her room from the series Meikun gakuya sugata (Views of Famous Courtesans at Leisure), published by Maruya Jinpachi, signed Utamaro hitsu; two by Eisen, one a bust portrait of a woman applying rouge on her lips, from the series Imayo bijin junikei (Twelve Views of Fashionable Beauties), the Hachiman Shrine in Fukagawa in a handscroll-shaped cartouche on the upper left hand corner, published by Izumiya Ichibei, signed Keisai Eisen ga; the last another portrait of a woman holding a packet of incense from the series Imayo bijo kurabe (Comparison of Present-day Beauties), published by Sanoya Kihei, signed Keisai Eisen ga. The smallest 36.2cm x 24.3cm (14¼in x 9 5/8in), the largest 37.5cm x 24.9cm (14 3/8in x 9 7/8in). (4).
