Beschreibung:

Krug Grande Cuvee Finesse NV Krug Grande Cuvee Finesse NV Champagne A blend of 76 wines from 10 different years, the oldest being from 1988 and the youngest from 2002. 2002 was a great year for Champagne, with a large yield and great quality grapes. The major task of the winemaking team was to find in our library of reserve wines the individualities that would bring different aromas, building a real symphony. Sometimes, there is additional difficulty in re-creating Krug Grande Cuvee when the wines of the year are so typical, going all in the same direction and expressing so much the climate of that year. Then the art of blending makes sense more than ever and the library of reserve wines reveals totally its importance. A quote from Henri Krug can express this paradox: as he stated, while 1985 was recognized as a great vintage in Champagne, the still wines were so typical that year that his task of blending Grande Cuvee was made very difficult. " I remember the Krug Grande Cuvee based on the harvest 1985 as the most difficult I ever had to create. After a rigorous winter and disastrous Spring, came a superb Summer, but a tiny crop. The grapes were mature , the still wines very typical. The blending was hell to realize! To find the harmony and the consistency of our Krug Grande Cuvee without letting the "1985" character pedominate, I had to do it again three times..."
