Kwong Yeu Ting [Kuang Yaoding] (Chinese, 1922-2011) Boats on a Beach Signed "Kwong Yeu Ting" l.r., with a label from Mi Chou Gallery, New York, affixed to the reverse. Oil on panel, 20 3/4 x 54 1/2 in. (52.7 x 138.4 cm), framed. Condition: Surface grime. N.B. Kwong Yeu Ting was born in Macau and came to America in 1949 to attend graduate school in Landscape Architecture at Kansas State University. (1) After continued study in Europe, he returned east to Hong Kong in 1957 where he was appointed adjunct teaching positions at Hong Kong University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 1978, he became a full-time lecturer at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. From 1957 to 1997, he participated in many international solo exhibitions, including one at the Hong Kong Museum of Art.
