Twelve days of festivities were held in celebration of the birth, on 8th September, of Maria Elisabetta, infante of Sicily, daughter of Charles III, King of Naples, and Maria Amalia; they commenced on 24 November, the 17th birthday of the child's mother. Niccolò Palma, the royal architect who had designed the elaborate decorations 2 years earlier for the couple's marriage celebrations, again decorated the Duomo in a baroque style, and built a temporary theatre in the great ohall of the senatorial palace for musical and other performances. They included 'serenade' by Pietro Nati, with music by Fabrizio la Rocca. Another 'serenada' by Girolamo S. Angelo with music by Giovanni Statella was performed at the ball held by Ferdinando Monroy, Prince of Pandolfina at his palace. Not in Berlin Kat.
