Font has been converted for kerosene use with a later 19th century patent burner with dates Feb. 19, 1861 / Sept. 16, 1862, and 4" shade ring which supports an engraved and etched "Oregon" style shade. Fifteen period cut pendants hang from the prism ring. Marked with an elliptical metal plate soldered to the font reading Cornelius & Baker / Patent April 1, 1845 / Philadelphia. Height to the prism ring 13"; overall height 22". See Gowitt, 2002: 165 for a similar example. Condition: Slight wear to the gilt finish; few prisms have been machined and few with chips.
