Title: Large Americana archive: photographs, letters, certificates, ephemera, etc. Author: (Group Lot) Place: Various places Publisher: Date: Various dates Description: Includes: Approx. 80 California Horse Racing items, tickets, stubs, booklets, business cards, guess passes, a cashed check, 2 photos, 2 Los Angeles Turf Club metal pins, etc. from 1920-1930's. * Approx. 50 photograph portraits, carte-de-visites, albumen, tintypes, sepia-tone, etc. of various people, many of tintypes are tiny and inside a cloth-album; many loose photos mounted on card-stock with printed versos: J.Pitcher Spooner, Stockton, CA; Bradley Rulofson, San Francisco; William Brown & Brown & Edwards, Modesto, etc. * Seven typed letters from Government officials: 1 by J. Edgar Hoover (1962) and a signed photo portrait (both likely secretarially signed), 2 by John J. McFall (1960), 2 by Edmund "Pat" Brown as CA Governor (1961-62), Bernice Brown (Mrs. Pat Brown, 1961), Frederick G. Dutton (Special Assistant to the U.S. President, Oct. 1961 on White House letterhead), plus a few paper items, envelopes and two group photos of U.S. officials, including McFall. * 2 photos of Vincent Price taken by L. Covello, dated 1951, one inscribed & signed by Price. * Five large certificates from the U.S. Navy issued to Donald M. Stewart honoring him for his service, issued from 1913-22. * Collection of United States Judges (mostly from San Francisco and California) material, including 12 photographs (8 signed and one framed) and numerous other paper items and letters (many are signed). Judges include: William Waste, Harry A. Hollzer (Los Angeles), George Cosgrave. From 1930-1960’s. Together, over 150 individual paper items, mostly photos, letters, etc. Lot Amendments Condition: Varying amounts of wear, generally very good. Should be inspected first-hand.
