Beschreibung:

Brazil or Central African Republic The rarest and hardest diamonds on the planet, carbonados are dark polycrystalline diamonds from outer space that were created by an exploding star before the formation of our solar system and delivered to Earth by an asteroid over two billion years ago. Carbonados are found only on the east coast of Brazil and the west coast of the Central African Republic, which were joined together at the time of the meteorite impact. Unlike ordinary diamonds, they lack shear planes and cannot be faceted. Color can vary from black to dark gray and dark green, depending upon their trace elements. Most Carbonado black diamonds recovered have been very small, weighing 3 carats or less. The large, shiny black stone offered here is an exception. It is completely original, with a microscopic pebbly appearance indicating the compression of the individual diamond crystals. Both beautiful and rare, this marvelous diamond is over 4.55 billion years old – older than any other rock found on Earth Measures 23 x 16mm, Weighs 32.59 carats
