Large Station-Type Musical Box, c. 1890 onwards With coin-activated crank-wind cylinder movement, playing 12 traditional British airs and ballads accompanied by six graduated engine-turned bells, drum, castanet and four added dancing dolls, with 72 teeth in musical comb and 20 teeth in the three optional percussion combs (all four complete, approx. four bass tips expertly repaired), in imposing carved walnut case with tune-sheet, later pediment, barley-twist columns and matching upright storage base with relief of foliage and grotesque masks on the drawer and door, total ht. 83 x wd. 38 in. (211 x 96 cm), cylinder 19 in. (49 cm). - Movement in excellent restored playing condition, cabinet appropriate to the period but not original to the movement. - An impressive display piece! Großer Bahnhofsautomat mit Walzenspieldose, ab ca. 1890 Mit durch Münzeinwurf ausgelöstem Spielwerk, mit Kurbel, 12 Melodien (traditionelle britische Melodien und Balladen), begleitet von 6 Glocken, Trommel und Kastagnette, 4 tanzende Puppen (ergänzt), 72 Töne im Stahlkamm, 20 Zähne für die abschaltbaren Begleitinstrumente (alle 4 Kämme komplett, ca. 4 Spitzen im Baß professionell repariert), Original-Melodienblatt, imposant geschnitztes Nußbaumgehäuse, späterer Giebel, doppelt gedrechselte Säulen, auf passendem Unterschrank mit geschnitzten Blättern und grotesken Masken auf Schublade und Tür, Gesamthöhe 211 cm, Breite 96 cm, Walzenbreite 49 cm. - Die Mechanik befindet sich in exzellent restauriertem und spielendem Zustand. Das Gehäuse stammt aus der gleichen Zeit, gehört jedoch nicht original zu dem Spielwerk. - Ein imposantes Ausstellungsstück!
