Date: 1922-28 Description: Four promotional items for “all-colored cast” silent movies: • 1922 brochure/mailer for The Love Bug, The Crimson Skull, The Green Eyed Monster and the Bull-Dogger (a “five-reel western” starring a Black rodeo champion) 9.5 x 12”, 4pp. 16 illustrations from the films • 1923 booklet/mailer for The Crimson Skull, Green Eyed Monster, Bull Dogger and coming attractions, Regeneration and Zircon. 9 x 12”, 4pp. 5 illustrations from the films • 1926 Poster - brochure (tears and weakness at folds) for The Flying Ace, unfolds to 14 x 22”, 4pp. with illustrations from the film about a Black airman in World War I • 1928 two-sided leaflet for Black Gold, 4.5 x 7”, illustrated. Advertising for seven ground-breaking movies (and one which never appeared) , cast entirely with Black actors and actresses – popular with African-American audiences at the end of the “silent” film era, produced by a white Florida company just before the advent of "talkies" Lot Amendments Condition: Very good Item number: 276275
