Biblia cum concordantiis veteris & novi testamentis, the Duke of Sussex' copy with his bookplate on front pastedown and with ink presentation inscription from Robert James Carr, Bishop of Chichester to the Duke of Sussex on front endpapers, double column, gothic letter, some text and tables in red, numerous woodcuts throughout (some by Hans Springinklée), lacks 2ai title, Q5 small tear in upper margin, lacks R6 blank, 2C3 (index) tear, title torn and repaired, 2C10 last leaf blank, a few ff. with near contemporary manuscript notes with margins folded, last 2ff. with text cuttings from another work laid down, slightly browned, a few ink marks, 18th century vellum, rubbed, soiled, corners worn, morocco label on spine, [cf. D & M 6101], folio, Lyons, J. Sacon for A. Koberger of Nuremberg, 1516; sold not subject to return. *** Ink inscriptions read: "Presented by Dr. Carr, Bishop of Chichester... [later] Worcester To the Duke of Sussex 1831 Described in the Bibliotheca Sussexiana II pa 37." Prince Augustus Frederick Duke of Sussex (1773-1843), sixth son of George III.
