LAWRENCE, David Herbert. Lady Chatterley's Lover, [?Florence:] Privately Printed, 1928. Large 8 (227 x 160mm.), half title, original mulberry paper-covered boards, paper label on spine (short tears to head and foot of spine), yellow dust-jacket (lightly soiled and stained, torn at edges with slight loss). NO. 366 OF 1,500 COPIES. cf. Robert A42. PIRATED EDITION. 'Another photographic facsimile was selling in New York for fifteen dollars about a month after the first genuine copies arrived from Italy ... it looks very much like the original edition, but the mulberry-coloured paper boards are a slightly different shade and without the Lawrence phoenix on the upper cover.' (Roberts, p.110). The present copy contains all the typographical errors which were present in the original printed text as listed on p.109 of Robert's bibliography.
