Munich: Bremer Press], 1933. Folio (13 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches; 340 x 235 mm). Illustrations (including 5 hand-colored landscapes). Original linen-backed boards, printed spine label, original board slipcase. Condition : one corner of covers and foot of spine bumped, slipcase bumped and with rear panel chipped. Provenance : Philip Hofer, with his small bookplate and with a pencil note: "B[ought] by P.H. for himself personally 12/29/66 from Chiswick Bookshop NYC". first (and only) edition of the indispensible bibliography of the great nonsense poet , limited to 155 copies (numbered 142 but unsigned) printed at one of the greatest German private presses. The book gives details of the original editions in Field's personal collection (now at Harvard), as well as copies known from other sources. The bibliographical notices are by Bertha Coolidge Slade.
