Contemporary half speckled sheep over marbled boards, blue edges (repairs at corners and spine ends). Modern calf chemise and slipcase. Provenance : Halsted B. Vander Poel. Leonardo's treatise on painting was first printed more than a century after his death, having previously circulated widely in manuscript.
