Engraved portrait by and after White and 23 plates, many folding (lacks the last leaf, probably blank, portrait mounted, portrait and plates a little browned and spotted). Contemporary calf, panels of spine ruled in gilt, sides ruled in blind (covers detached). Provenance : Le Canet (near contemporary signature on title) - John Fawely, 1785 (signature on title and a few marginalia) -- From the Library of John Jackson (1793-1875) of Academy Place, Warrington (bookplate). FIRST EDITION of Leybourn's exhaustive work on sun-dials. Wing L1912.
