Half tone portrait frontispiece and 421 hand-coloured or chromolithographed plates after Archibald Thorburn J. G. Keulemans and others. (A few plates with surface abrasion or adhered to facing text leaves, occasional mainly light spotting and browning.) Contemporary red half morocco by R. H. Porter, spines lettered and dated in gilt, top edges gilt (lightly rubbed). Provenance : Sibyl Currie (bookplates and ink inscription). FIRST EDITION.
